Christine Abundo enters her second season with the Quinnipiac women’s tennis team, first as an assistant coach after serving as a volunteer assistant coach in 2014-15. In her first season with the program, the Quinnipiac women's tennis team won their second straight MAAC championship appearance and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history.
Abundo previously coached high school varsity girls tennis in Orange County, California.
Abundo graduated in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University. She was a four-year member of the Quinnipiac women’s tennis team where she played for former head coach Mike Quitko and current head coach Paula Miller when she was an assistant coach. Abundo played No. 5 and 6 singles as well as No. 3 doubles. Abundo was recently inducted into the Quinnipiac Hall of Fame in Oct. 2014 with the rest of the 1997 team for their accomplishments.
Abundo is currently working as a full-time pediatric occupational therapist at Hamden Public Schools through Cheshire Fitness Zone. Prior to coming back to Connecticut, Abundo had worked as an pediatric occupational therapist in Southern California.
