Prior to Quinnipiac:
- Reilly enjoyed a very successful high school career in Connecticut at East Catholic, playing for his father Coach Luke Reilly Sr.
- In 2023-24 as a senior, he averaged 28 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 1 block per game. Reilly shot 54% from the floor and posted an impressive 44% mark from 3-point distance.
- He surpassed 1,000 career points at East Catholic, and helped lead the program to a 83-12 overall record.
- During his time at East Catholic, Reilly helped lead the program to two Connecticut Division I State titles (2022 & 2023). He was also a two-time All-State Selection (2023 & 2024).
- Reilly, an exceptional three-point shooter, shot 40% from distance in each of his four high school seasons.
- He also enjoyed success in the classroom, posting a 4.0+ GPA as a member of the National Honor Society.
- The 6-foot-2 combo guard averaged 15 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per contest in 2022-23 as a junior.
- The Reilly name is synonymous with Connecticut Basketball. Samson's grandfather, Joe, and great uncle, Gene, are among some of the most successful high school coaches in the area. Reilly's brother, Luke, is currently playing at Florida Southern. He also has an uncle, Joe, who is the Head Coach at Wesleyan, and a cousin, Joey, who is currently playing Division I basketball at Sacred Heart.
