RIVERDALE, N.Y. — The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team secured its first conference victory of the season on Saturday afternoon, earning a four-set victory over Manhattan (23-25, 33-31, 26-24, 25-13) at Draddy Gymnasium.

With the victory, Quinnipiac moves to 1-1 in Metro Conference play.

The Bobcats won a second-set thriller by the final score of 33-31 to tie the match, then took care of business in the following two stanzas to secure the road win.

A trio of Bobcats (Sahra Ozbiltekin, Giulia Ragusa, Sophia Minlend) all recorded a double-double in the win. Ozbiltekin registered a match-high 24 kills to go along with 15 digs.

NOTES

Sahra Ozbiltekin paced the Bobcats' attack with a match-high 24 kills while adding 15 digs. The 24 kills marked a new career-high for Ozbiltekin.
Giulia Ragusa registered a double-double, recording 11 kills and 12 digs.
Asia Belli was efficient up front, putting down nine kills while attacking at a team-best .562 percentage. She also had three solo blocks (team-high mark).
Sophia Minlend contributed 11 kills and 11 digs for a double-double, as well.
Klara Olszewska orchestrated the offense with 50 assists while adding eight digs and two solo blocks. She also registered three service aces.
Didar Bulbul anchored the back line with a team-high 16 digs.
Quinnipiac compiled 15.0 total team blocks defensively while hitting .469 in the final set to seal the win.

GAME REWIND

Set 1 (Manhattan 25, Quinnipiac 23): The Jaspers took an early lead before Quinnipiac fought back with kills from Ozbiltekin and Minlend to claim an 18-17 edge. Following a tight late frame that featured six tie scores and four lead changes, Manhattan closed on back-to-back points to take the opening set 25-23. Ozbiltekin led QU with five kills over the first set, while Belli recorded four.
Set 2 (Quinnipiac 33, Manhattan 31): In an extraordinary marathon set featuring 13 tie scores and six lead changes, QU grabbed an early 12-6 lead following an ace from Ozbiltekin. Manhattan rallied to set point multiple times, but kills from Ozbiltekin, Ragusa, and Sila Yildiz held off the Jaspers. QU finally capitalized on an error from Manhattan to cap off the 33-31 set victory. Ozbiltekin had eight more kills during the second stanza, while Klara Olszewska dished out 17 assists.
Set 3 (Quinnipiac 26, Manhattan 24): Quinnipiac built a 17-12 advantage behind service aces from Minlend and blocks by Belli and Ragusa. Manhattan mounted a late 5-0 run to tie the set at 22-22, but crucial kills from Ragusa and Minlend down the stretch pushed QU ahead to claim a 26-24 frame.
Set 4 (Quinnipiac 25, Manhattan 13): The Bobcats dominated the final set from the start, opening on an 11-4 run powered by kills from Ozbiltekin and Belli. Hitting a match-high .469 as a team in the set, Quinnipiac maintained full control to close out the 25-13 victory. Ozbiltekin helped finish off the contest with seven kills, including the final point of the set.

The Bobcats return to Hamden for their home opener on Tuesday, Sept. 29, hosting Merrimack at Burt Kahn Court at 6:00 PM to continue Metro Conference action.
