
Monroe's Double-Double Helps Lift Bobcats Over Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball erased a double-digit deficit on Sunday afternoon at Mahoney Arena, earning a 72-65 road win over Fairfield in MAAC play. The Bobcats move to 8-5 in league action with the victory.
Amarri Monroe led Quinnipiac with 23 points and 13 rebounds. He scored 12 points over the final 5:07 of the contest to help Quinnipiac secure the win.
Big man Spence Wewe stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks, going 5-of-6 from the floor over 23 minutes.
Jaden Zimmerman chipped in with 14 points, while Asim Jones added 11. Keith McKnight also recorded 10 points off the bench.
Quinnipiac outscored Fairfield 39-24 during the second half. The Bobcats' defense forced the Stags to shoot just 28.6% (10-of-35) over the final 20 minutes.

- The Bobcats blocked 12 total shots, a new season-high total. It marks the most blocked shots in a game for Quinnipiac since 2/27/2015, when the Bobcats blocked 13 shots vs. Siena.
- QU finished 32-of-61 (52.5%) in total, and the Bobcats outscored Fairfield 54-38 in the paint.
- Amarri Monroe's double-double is his 10th of the year. He's got seven double-doubles in 13 MAAC games. He finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds on 11-of-19 shooting. Monroe grabbed four offensive rebounds in the win. He's now averaging 15.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest in league action.
- Spence Wewe registered a season-best 10 points. He also grabbed nine rebounds, which ties a season-high mark. Wewe shot 5-of-6 from the floor and grabbed seven defensive rebounds in the win. The Bobcats' starting center has five or more rebounds in three of the last five.
