Bobcats Win Home Opener, Move to 2-0

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac field hockey team stayed unbeaten after defeating Bucknell 2-0 at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Neither team could muster much offense through the first half into the third quarter until QU broke the scoreless tie 36 minutes in. Francisca Eschoyez took a shot on a penalty corner that Lauren Keyte tipped in for the Bobcats' first lead of the game.
10 minutes later Katie Shanahan threw a shot into the circle and Rozemarijn Van Keulen was able to get a piece of it enough to get it by the Bucknell goaltender, making it 2-0 QU with just over 13 minutes to go.

QU will head to Maine next weekend to face the Black Bears on Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM before a quick turnaround, facing Stonehill at 2:00 PM on Saturday afternoon. Both games will be played at Maine.
