HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program saw its season come to an end on Friday night, as the Bobcats fell to UConn 4-1 in the NCAA Regional Semifinals at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa.
The Huskies scored the first two goals of the night to take control after the first 20 minutes.
It would be Jeremy Wilmer who found the net off a silky move from Mason Marcellus, cutting the deficit to 2-1 early in the second.
The Bobcats could not find the equalizer, however, despite outshooting the Huskies 11-3 in the final 20 minutes. UConn would score at the 14:13 mark of the second and then find the empty net in the third to ice the win.
Rand Pecknold's club finishes the year 24-12-2.
