3 Bobcats Earn All-NIRA Honors

HAMDEN, Conn. – 3 Quinnipiac Women's Rugby student-athletes have earned 2024-25 All-NIRA status, as announced by the organization on Friday, Feb. 7.
Anna Van Dyk earned First Team All-NIRA status, while both Kat Storey and Gabrielle Appiah were selected to the All-NIRA Second Team.
Van Dyk scored 5 tries for the Bobcats in 2024. She recorded 70 tackles, 18 tackle assists, and logged a 96% tackle completion rate. The graduate student also had 103 carries and 471 meters made.
Storey found the try zone seven different times for Quinnipiac in 2024. She also tallied 24 tackles, 3 tackle assists and completed 71% of her tackles. Storey also had 33 carries and 340 meters made.
Gabrielle Appiah scored twice for QU. She added 42 tackles, 23 tackle assists and a 78% completion rate. Appiah also registered 300 meters made on 54 carries.
Quinnipiac most recently wrapped up the 2024 regular season with a 4-3-2 overall record (2-3-2 NIRA). Head Coach Becky Carlson just completed her 14th year at the helm of the Quinnipiac Women's Rugby team in 2024, leading the transition from a new varsity program into a three-time national champion.
