Asim Jones Scores Career-High 23 Points

HAMDEN, Conn. – Asim Jones paced the Bobcats with a career-high 23 points, as Quinnipiac men's basketball outlasted Marist, 64-58, in a MAAC battle on Monday evening at M&T Bank Arena.

Jones tallied 13 points during the second half to help lead the Bobcats to a win. The senior guard took over down the stretch, registering 12 points over the final eight minutes of action.

Amarri Monroe recorded his fifth double-double of the year, stuffing the box score with 14 points, 10 rebounds and a game-high five steals.

QU moves to 3-0 in MAAC play with the victory. The Bobcats are now 6-1 in home contests during 2025-26.

GAME REWIND

Quinnipiac outscored Marist 30-25 in the first half, then the Bobcats earned a 34-33 advantage over the final 20 minutes of action.
The Bobcats led for 31:37 in total (Quinnipiac's largest lead was nine points). There were seven different lead changes, and the game was tied six times.
Quinnipiac shot 11-of-29 (37.9%) during the second half of action to finish off the win.
Jadin Collins-Roberts scored for Marist to tie the game 46-46, then the Bobcats outscored the Red Foxes 18-12 down the stretch (final 9:41).
Asim Jones tallied 12 points over the final eight minutes of play.

NOTES & NUMBERS

Quinnipiac finished the game 22-61 (36.1%) from the floor. The Bobcats made seven 3-pointers – with two coming from Asim Jones and two coming from Grant Randall.
QU finished with a 43-37 rebounding advantage.
Asim Jones' 23-point performance marks a new career best. He also grabbed five rebounds, and shot 5-of-7 from the free throw line.
Jones shot 5-of-12 in the second half, scoring Quinnipiac's final 10 points.
Amarri Monroe finished with 14 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and three assists in the win. The Preseason MAAC Player of the Year has four double-doubles over Quinnipiac's last five contests.
Monroe is up to 181 career steals, climbing Quinnipiac's career leaderboard. He is chasing Kason Mims ('04, 189 steals) for the Bobcats' Division I career record.
Grant Randall chipped in with 10 points and six rebound, going 3-of-5 from the floor.
Keith McKnight added seven points and six rebounds off the bench in 27 minutes.
Spence Wewe grabbed seven rebounds, scored four points and blocked two shots.
Quinnipiac is now 17-10 against Marist since the Bobcats joined the MAAC in 2013. The Bobcats have taken six of the last eight meetings.
