Monroe Powers Bobcats to First-Ever ACC Win, QU Tops Pitt

PITTSBURGH – Amarri Monroe delivered a big performance on the big stage Sunday evening at Petersen Events Center.
The reigning MAAC Player of the Year powered the Bobcats with 25 points, leading Quinnipiac men's basketball past Pitt by the final score of 83-75.
The victory is Quinnipiac's first-ever win over an ACC opponent. The Bobcats earn their first Power 5 win since Dec. 21, 2014, when Quinnipiac defeated Pac-12 foe Oregon State in Hamden.
The Bobcat shot 28-of-49 in total (57.1%), and 11-of-17 from 3-point range (64.7%). QU outscored Pitt 47-37 in the first half of action, then held on for a big road win.
Amarri Monroe finished with 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting. He registered 15 points during the second half of action.
Grant Randall chipped in with 15 points and five rebounds.
All 9 Bobcats that checked into the game got into the scoring column.

GAME REWIND
After a back-and-forth start to the contest, the Bobcats used a 9-0 run to take a 17-12 lead with 10:42 to go in the first half.
Quinnipiac then used another 15-8 burst over the final 4:13 in the first half to take a 10-point edge into the locker room.
Pitt got off to a hot start coming out of the locker room, cutting the lead from 10 to just one point over the first six-plus minutes of the second half.
The Bobcats finished the job in the second half, though, knocking down eight free throws and four triples over the final 10 minutes. Monroe hit a 3-pointer with 1:56 left in action to put an exclamation point on the win, giving the Bobcats a 13-point lead at the time.

- Amarri Monroe finished with a stat line of 25 points, four steals, three rebounds and three assists. Monroe scored 10 points over the final six minutes of play. He's registered 3.8 steals per contest so far in 2025-26, which ranks No. 3 nationally.
- 15 points is a new career-high mark for Grant Randall. The sophomore shot 5-of-7 from the field, and a perfect 3-of-3 from distance in the win.
- Tai Turnage impressed with seven points and seven assists off the bench. He went 2-of-2 from the floor. The first-year guard tallied five points and four assists during the first half.
- Jaden Zimmerman recorded eight points over 32 minutes on the floor.
- Keith McKnight registed seven points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Spence Wewe added seven points and five rebounds for the Bobcats.
- Asim Jones and Samson Reilly each chipped in with six points.
