HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's basketball program has announced the commitment of guard Malik Fields (Bronx, NY) during the early signing period, as announced by Head Coach Tom Pecora and the Bobcats on Nov. 13, 2025.
Fields – a 6-foot-4 guard – will join the Bobcats out of Cardinal Hayes High School. He enjoyed a breakout junior season in 2024-25, earning 2024-25 CHSAA Basketball AA All-League Third Team for his efforts. He scored 34 points to send the game into overtime with a buzzer beating 3-pointer during Hayes' upset bid of top-seeded St. Francis Prep in the CHSAA quarterfinals last season.
"We're excited to welcome Malik Fields and his family to our program," Pecora said. "Malik is a talented, versatile guard with a three-level scoring repertoire. He has a knack for making the right plays on the basketball court, and we can't wait to work with him next year."
Fields averaged 14.6 points per contest during 2024-25 at Cardinal Hayes.
He also played on the AAU circuit with the Riverside Hawks in New York City. Fields was named MVP of the Shooting Stars Showcase in the Bronx, where he finished with an event-best 30 points.
