Field Hockey Wins Rainy Thriller, Tops Lafayette in Shootout

HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac field hockey team won a thriller in the rain on Sunday afternoon, as the Bobcats bested Lafayette in a shootout.
The Bobcats – winners of three consecutive games – are now 8-5 overall so far in 2025.
Francisca Eschoyez, Mo Quaile, and Katie Shanahan all scored in the shootout for Quinnipiac. Cristina Torres, who tied her season-best mark with nine saves, made the final stop to help clinch the home victory.

- Cristina Torres impressed with nine saves in total, which ties her season high mark. Torres made a series of diving saves in the second half and overtime period to help keep the game scoreless. She has 56 saves so far in 2025.
- Lafayette outshot QU 15-11 in total.
- Quinnipiac earned six penalty corner chances.
- The Bobcats are now 2-2 over the last four matchups against the Leopards.
- QU is up to 8 wins, its most since the 2022 season (8-11 overall in 2022).
