Oak Tabbed Preseason MAAC Player of the Year

Bobcats Picked 4th in Coaches' Poll
EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac Men's Lacrosse goalie Mason Oak has been named 2025 Preseason MAAC Player of the Year, as revealed by the league office on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025.
Mason Poli and the Bobcats were also tabbed 4th in the Preseason Coaches' Poll, finishing just behind Siena, Sacred Heart, and Marist.

Oak was also recently named a USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American. He finished the 2024 season ranked second nationally in saves per game (15.43) and fourth nationally in save percentage (58.7%).
Oak won 2024 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year honors for his efforts, and was also named a USA Lacrosse All-American. He made 216 total saves and allowed just 152 goals during 14 contests. Oak made 22 saves vs. Sacred Heart on April 10 – the fifth largest save total in a D1 game during the 2024 campaign. He posted nine games with 15+ saves.
Oak helped the Bobcats finish up the 2024 season with a 9-5 mark. QU won its first seven games to begin the season. Oak anchored a Quinnipiac program that earned its most wins (9) since 2019. At 7-0 overall to begin the 2024 campaign, the Bobcats were the final remaining unbeaten team in the country and ranked 20th nationally in the Inside Lacrosse Division I Media Poll on March 25, 2024.
Quinnipiac men's lacrosse will begin the new season on Friday, Feb. 14 at UMass. The Bobcats' first home contest in Hamden will be against Bryant on Feb. 22.
Head Coach Mason Poli and the Bobcats will play in 13 total contests during the spring season. Quinnipiac will host five games at the QU Lacrosse Stadium in Hamden – one in February, two in March, and two home games in April.
