MAY THE SCHWARTZ BE WITH YOU
- First year forward Aaron Schwartz had a career night on Monday, recording a goal and three assists in Quinnipiac's 6-1 win over Stonehill.
- He was part of the scoring on a pair of tallies in both the second and third period, scoring at the 12:12 mark of the final frame. He assisted on the Bobcats' first, third and sixth goals of the night.
- He joins a club of 10, first-year players to record four or more points in a game and is one of 13 freshmen to dish three or more assists in a game this season.
POWERED UP
- Entering the weekend, the Bobcats boast the nation's fifth-best power-play rate, converting on 27.5 percent of its opportunities. That mark also leads the ECAC.
- 12 of their 19 on the season have come since Nov. 15, the third-most in the country, scoring on 29.3 percent of opportunities since then.
- Travis Treloar recorded his sixth goal on the advantage this season, the 23rd of his collegiate career, which is the most among any active NCAA D1 skaters.
FINDING THEIR STRIDE
- After a 3-5-0 start to the campaign, the Bobcats have started to hit a groove, going 8-2-1 over their last nine contests and currently find themselves top of the ECAC standings.
- The eight wins are tied for the second-most over that stretch, averaging out to a .772 winning percentage.
- The Bobcats have killed off 27 of 28 penalties during that span, disposing of opposing power plays at a 96.3 percent clip. Only Holy Cross (97.1) and Western Michigan (97.0) have a better rate.
NEW HOCK(L)EY PLAYER
- Defenseman Drew Hockley made the jump from the BCHL to the NCAA for the second semester of the season, coming over from the Victoria Grizzlies.
- The Kentville, Nova Scotia native recorded 24 points in 23 games with eight goals and 16 assists before making the jump.
- He has made four starts since coming to Quinnipiac, paired with assistant captain Davis Pennington in all contests.
JACK OF ALL GOALSCORERS
- Grad student Jack Ricketts set a new Division I program mark on Dec. 29, scoring four goals in 39 minutes, including a natural hat trick, to aid the Bobcats in their 6-5 victory over AIC.
- Ricketts recorded his second hat trick of 2024 and the Bobcats' first of the season. It was also the first natural hat trick since Travis St. Denis in 2014.
- With the four tallies, he took over the NCAA active goalscoring lead with 54 to his name, three ahead of Minnesota's Jimmy Snuggerud.
