
Two National Championships Highlight Event Finals Day at NCATA Meet

Knoell, Acro 7 each take home trophies for Bobcats
FAIRMONT, W. Va. — The Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling program took home a pair of individual national championships on Sunday during the Event Finals day, winning in the six-element tumbling pass and open pyramid heats.
Summer Knoell earned her third individual national title, scoring 9.850 in the six-element pass in beating out Oregon by 0.025 for the title. It is her third individual title after winning the quad pass her sophomore season and duo pass her junior season.
The Bobcats first individual title came in the open pyramid heat, the sequence that saw them score a perfect 10 in at Azusa Pacific on March 13. This time around, Quinnipiac scored a 9.900 to best Gannon by 0.025 to earn the title.
The squad of Alyssa Dillon, Hallie Fowler, Kaya Clark, Bri Marks and Tiffany Zieba earned the trophy for Quinnipiac.
The Bobcats were also garnered with three season honors, as Tiffany Zieba and Lyndsey Rudolph were named NCATA All-Americans, while Melanie Reed made the NCATA All-Academic team.
Overall, Quinnipiac participated in nine event finals, finishing in the top two in five of them.
