
Lewis Sets D1 Assist Mark, Bobcats Win 10th Straight

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball earned its 10th consecutive win in MAAC play on Thursday night, downing Saint Peter's 84-73 at M&T Bank Arena to improve to 11-1 in the league.
Rihards Vavers and Amarri Tice led the scoring charge with 18 points apiece, while Paul Otieno registered another double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) on 6-of-7 shooting.
Matt Balanc added 12 points, and Savion Lewis stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points and eight assists.
Lewis set a new Quinnipiac Division I program record for single-season assists, surpassing Rob Monroe's total of 170 set in 2005. Lewis is now closing in on the program's all-time helper mark of 211 assists set by Mike Buscetto ('93).
The surging Bobcats move to 19-4 overall, and 11-1 in MAAC action. Quinnipiac owns a three-game lead over second-place Fairfield – who is 8-4 in conference play.

- Amarri Tice chipped in with 18 points and six rebounds. Tice has recorded 14.3 PPG in MAAC play.
- Paul Otieno's double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) is his third of the year. He finished 6-of-7 from the floor and 3-of-5 from the free throw line.
- Savion Lewis finished with 10 points and eight helpers during his record-breaking day. Lewis set the Bobcats' new single-season assists record during the first half of play with his fifth assist of the night.
- Matt Balanc added 12 points.
- The Bobcats led for 37:27. QU's largest advantage was 21 points (18:39 in the second half).
- Quinnipiac outscored the Peacocks 42-28 in the paint.
