No. 19 Bobcats Defeat Yale in Battle of Whitney Ave.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The No. 19 Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey program earned its first regular season sweep of the 2024-25 campaign, knocking off Yale in the annual Battle of Whitney Ave., at Ingalls Rink on Saturday night in New Haven.
The Bobcats used four unanswered, including the game-tying and game-winning tallies from Mason Marcellus, to earned the win and get back to even on the year at 5-5-0 and 2-2-0 in ECAC play.
The line of Marcellus, Andon Cerbone and Travis Treloar combined for seven of the 10 Bobcat points tonight, with Treloar and Cerbone adding assists on the Marcellus tallies and Treloar adding a third helper on an Aaron Schwartz goal 2:04 into the second.
Jack Ricketts added an empty-netter late to ice the victory as the Bobcats made it 15 straight wins against the Bulldogs and are now 15-4-1 at Ingalls rink.
Dylan Silverstein made the start in net for the Bobcats, stopping 23 of 24 shots on his cage.
STATS AND NOTES
Quinnipiac heads to the Southern Tier of New York next weekend, taking on Colgate and No. 6 Cornell on Nov. 22 and 23. Both puck drops are slated for 7 p.m., and can be seen live on ESPN+.

- Quinnipiac has won nine of the last 10 matchups by three goals or more, including each of the last three at Ingalls Rink.
- Treloar's three-assist night is the first of his career, besting his previous career-best of two that he had hit five separate times. It is also his first multi-assist game of the campaign.
- Marcellus tallied his first multi-goal campaign of 2024-25 and third of his career. The last game when he scored a pair against RPI on Feb. 17.
- Cerbone has recorded five, multi-assist outings in his collegiate career with three coming this year.
- Schwartz potted goals in each of the two games this weekend, adding his third power play goal of the season tonight.
