QU Reaches 20 Wins for 10th Time in Program History

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Quinnipiac men's basketball won its regular-season finale on Saturday night, downing Marist by the final score of 88-76 from McCann Arena.

The Bobcats have clinched the No. 3 seed in the 2023 Hercules Tires MAAC Men's Basketball Championship with the win.

Quinnipiac reaches 20 total wins in a season for just the fourth time in the program's Division I history. It marks the 10^th time in team history that the Bobcats have reached the 20-win mark.

Dezi Jones stuffed the stat sheet with 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the victory. Matt Balanc added 21 points, going 5-for-6 from 3-point distance.

QU shot 33-of-61 in total, knocking down 13-of-23 3-point field goals.
13 made triples is QU's second-highest total of the year, as the Bobcats made 13 3-pointers in November vs. Stonehill.
The Bobcats shot 19-of-31 (61.3%) from the floor in the first half, and went 9-of-13 from 3-point distance. QU outscored Marist 30-13 over the final 10:04 of the first half.
Dezi Jones recorded 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists. The Bobcats' point guard posted a +15 plus/minus rating over 33+ minutes.
Matt Balanc recorded 21 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the field. Balanc tied a career-high with five made triples.
Tyrese Williams added 14 points and three rebounds, and Luis Kortright chipped in with 13 points, four assists and three rebounds off the bench.
JJ Riggins added eight points, Ike Nweke scored six points, and Paul Otieno added five points and six rebounds.
Patrick Gardner led Marist with 27 points and nine rebounds.
QU is 14-8 vs. Marist since joining the MAAC (2013-13). The Bobcats have won four of the last five meetings.
Head Coach Baker Dunleavy is up to 86 wins at QU.

The Bobcats will now head to Atlantic City for the 2023 MAAC Tournament, which will be played in its entirety at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.
No. 3 Quinnipiac will play the winner of No. 6 Manhattan vs. No. 11 Marist. The Bobcats' quarterfinals matchup will be on Thursday, March 9 at 7:00 PM.
