SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The winning streak for the No. 2 Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey program hit a season-high, nine games on Friday night as the Bobcats took down Union 4-1 at Messa Rink. An early goal from Charles Alexis Legault started the party and the visitors would not relinquish the lead after that.
Joey Cipollone and Michael Lombardi scored 4:37 apart, overlapping the first and second periods, extending the advantage to 3-0 and putting the game out of reach.
The Bobcat defense was on lock down, killing all three Union man advantages and holding the Dutchmen without a shot in the first 20 minutes. They put 20 shots on goal in total and Yaniv Perets made 19 saves.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats finish off the regular season on Saturday night, taking on RPI at 7 p.m., in Troy. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
