
No. 3 Bobcats Pull Away from Holy Cross

HAMDEN, Conn. — A strong third period again powered the No. 3 Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey game, as they took a 2-2 tie and turned it into a 5-2 victory in the final 20 minutes, knocking off Holy Cross in the final game of 2023 in front of 3,312 fans at M&T Bank Arena on Saturday night.
Andon Cerbone and Mason Marcellus combined twice on cross-ice passes, starting the scoring and providing the game winner as both recorded multi-point nights.
Charles Alexis Legault scored the go-ahead goal in the second for Quinnipiac, his third tally of the year.
After Cerbone's go-ahead goal in the final frame, Collin Graf and Sam Lipkin provided insurance with a goal and assist apiece in the final two scoring instances.

- He also has 30 multi-point games as a college hockey player, with 25 coming since joining the Bobcats last season.
- Lipkin joined the double-digit club with his 10th goal of the season. He has recorded points in his last four outings and nine of his last 10 appearances.
- The Bobcats improved to 40-4-2 at M&T Bank Arena since the start of the 2021-22 campaign.
- Cerbone recorded his first collegiate, multi-goal game while adding his sixth performance of multiple points. This is one behind Graf for the most by a Bobcat this season.
- He is the sixth different Bobcat to record a two-goal game this season.
- Marcellus added his second, multi-assist outing as a Bobcat and fourth performance with two or more points.
- Quinnipiac has now outscored opponents 32-7 in the third period this season.
