Bobcats Close Out Regular Season With Three Set Sweep Over Saint Peter's

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Quinnipiac women's volleyball closed out the regular season in strong fashion, sweeping MAAC foe Saint Peter's in straight sets on Saturday afternoon on the road.
Leilani-kai Giusta led the Bobcats with 12 kills and five digs, while Aryanah Diaz logged 11 kills and 10 digs in the victory.
With the win, Quinnipiac ends the regular season with a record of 18-9 overall and 14-4 in MAAC play, while Saint Peter's fell to 0-30 on the season and 0-18 in conference play.

SET ONE (25-7, Quinnipiac)
The Bobcats opened the match with a 9-2 run to force Saint Peter's to use their first timeout of the set. Out of the break, the Bobcats didn't look back as they extended their lead to 20-5 before the Peacocks called their final timeout of the set. The rest was all Bobcats as they captured the first set by a score of 25-7/
SET TWO (25-17)
The two sides traded points to a 11-10 advantage for the Bobcats before they pulled away making it 16-11 to force the Peacocks to burn a timeout. After the Peacocks crept back in, the Bobcats shut down their comeback to win the set 25-17.
SET THREE (25-13)
Quinnipiac jumped out to an early 11-6 lead in the third set to force a timeout to be taken from Saint Peter's. Out of the timeout, it was all Quinnipiac, extending their lead to 20-11 before the Peacocks took their final timeout of the set. The Bobcats came out and got the points they needed to close out the match with a 25-13 set three victory.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 18, when number two-seeded Quinnipiac will open up play at the MAAC Tournament in the Semifinals.

- Aryanah Diaz tallied a double-double behind 12 kills and 10 digs
- Yagmur Gunes recorded a double-double as well, recording 13 digs and 10 kills.
- Damla Gunes recorded 32 assists and 10 digs for a double-double of her own in the win.
- This is the most wins the Bobcats have had at the conclusion of the regular season since the 2016 season.
