COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. – Quinnipiac field hockey Head Coach Nina Klein was named to the USA Field Hockey, U18 Junior High-Performance staff as an Assistant Coach for the 2023-2024 cycle.
"Working with the next generation of USA Field Hockey athletes is an honor and privilege. As someone who was fortunate enough to be a member of the USAFH pipeline as an athlete, it is an exciting moment in my career to coach and select the U18 squad."
Klein was named to the staff by USAFH Director of High-Performance Craig Parnham and USAFH Director of Junior High-Performance Grant Fulton in late September.
While with Team USA, Klein will work predominantly with the goalkeepers and backfield players at the training and selection camp. The training camp will extend from December 1-3, at the Home of USA Field Hockey in Charlotte, North Carolina at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte Campus.
Klein competed with the USA Field Hockey Women's National Development Team as an assistant coach with the Bobcats. In the Spring of 2019, Klein attended several training camps and a training trip with USA Field Hockey. Over that summer, Klein competed at the USA Field Hockey Young Women's National Championship and earned another invite to the USA Field Hockey Women's National Development Team selection camp in January 2020. She is also a selector for the USA Field Hockey U16 goalkeepers.
Klein also has significant playing experience in the United States national team program. In January 2018, she was one of a select group of 340 collegiate athletes who participated in the United States National Field Hockey Team trials in Pennsylvania. While in high school, she competed with the U16 Junior National Team in 2012, while her U19 Teams earned the gold in 2011 and 2012 at the USA Field Hockey National Festival.
