QU Goes on 12-1 Run Over Final 4:13
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball earned another home win on Tuesday night in Hamden, as the Bobcats separated from Marist at the end of regulation to earn a 72-66 MAAC victory.
The Bobcats outscored the Red Foxes 12-1 over the final 4:13 to improve to 16-6 (7-4 MAAC) on the season. QU shot 15-of-24 (62.5%) in the second half.
Matt Balanc paced QU with 18 points and six rebounds, and Dezi Jones added 14 points, nine assists and five rebounds.

- The Red Foxes jumped out to an early 14-point lead (34-20) with just over five minutes to go in the first half. The Bobcats closed out the half on a 16-6 run, though, to pull within just four points at the break.
- The Bobcats outscored Marist 36-26 in total to earn the home win. QU went 15-of-24 from the floor, and 5-of-9 from beyond the arc in the second stanza. Quinnipiac's defense forced 11 Marist turnovers in the second half.
- Matt Balanc's 18 points led all scorers. The guard shot 7-of-12 over 33 minutes, while also grabbing six rebounds. Balanc has 10+ points in five straight league games. Balanc registered a +14 plus-minus rating.
- Dezi Jones stuffed the box score with 14 points, nine assists, five rebounds and two steals over 30 minutes.
- Luis Kortright added 12 points and four assists off the bench, while Tyrese Williams chipped in with 11 points (three made triples).
- QU's bench outscored Marist 25-17.
- There were seven lead changes, and the game was tied four times.
- Quinnipiac is now 13-8 vs. Marist since joining the MAAC (2013-14). The Bobcats are 8-4 vs. Marist since Baker Dunleavy took over as Head Coach.
- Quinnipiac now turns its attention to Fairfield, as the Bobcats will play host to the Stags on national television. The in-state rivalry is set to begin on Friday, Feb. 3 at 7:00 PM in Hamden on ESPNU.
