HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac field hockey begins the 2022 campaign on Friday, as the Bobcats kick off the season against New Hampshire at home at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium.
THE MATCHUP: vs. NEW HAMPSHIRE
- Friday's matchup between the Bobcats and the Wildcats will be the first ever contest between the two programs
- Head Coach Becca Main enters her 28th season with the Bobcats
- She is the longest tenured field hockey coach in Quinnipiac's NCAA history
- Main is the winningest coach in QU women's field hockey program history with 206 victories
STAFF CHANGES
- Head Coach Becca Main made numerous changes to her staff entering the 2022 campaign
- Previously serving as an assistant coach, Montana Fleming was elevated to Associate Head Coach on June 16
- Fleming enters her fourth season as part of Main's staff at QU in 2022
- Prior to joining Main's staff for the 2019 campaign, Fleming spent the 2017 season as a fifth-year player and standout for the Bobcats
- Main announced the addition of Abby Lucas as an assistant coach on July 26
- Prior to making her way to Quinnipiac, Lucas spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the Franklin Pierce field hockey team
- Quinnipiac's fall 2022 schedule features 19 regular season contests in total.
- The Bobcats will host 10 home games at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium
- QU begins BIG EAST play on Friday, Sept. 16, when the Bobcats travel to Philadelphia for a date with Temple
- The Bobcats then return home to the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium for their BIG EAST home opener against UC Davis on Sept. 19
