Bobcats Well Represented at NHL Prospect Camps

4 Current, 4 Future Bobcats Hit the Ice This Week for Respective NHL Teams
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program is sending four current and four future Bobcats to NHL development camp rosters, as announced by the respective NHL organizations.
Returners Yaniv Perets (Philadelphia Flyers), TJ Friedmann (St. Louis Blues), Zach Metsa (Buffalo Sabres) and Skyler Brind'Amour (Edmonton Oilers) have all started action at their respective prospect camps. Incoming student-athletes Sam Lipkin (Arizona Coyotes), Collin Graf (Florida Panthers), Charles Alexis Legault (Ottowa Senators) and Chase Clark (Washington Capitols) also received an invite.
NHL development camps started on Monday, July 11.
Yaniv Perets – Philadelphia Flyers Camp
Perets was the ECAC Hockey Goalie and Player of the Year in 2021-22, along with First Team All-League honors and Hobey Baker Top-Ten Finalist recognition. The Dollard-des-Ormeaux native broke the NCAA single-season record for goals against average (1.17 GAA) and was within striking distance of the save percentage and individual shutout records at the end of the regular season. He posted a .941% save percentage, and recorded 11 clean sheets last year.
TJ Friedmann – St. Louis Blues Camp
Friedmann, who will return for a fifth year in 2022-23, set career marks in all major categories with 10 goals, 13 assists, 23 points, 62 shots and a +21 rating last season. He has 36 points in 129 games at Quinnipiac, playing in 25+ contests in each of his first four seasons with the Bobcats.
Zach Metsa – Buffalo Sabres Camp
Metsa, who has announced that he will return in 2022-23 for a fifth year, earned First Team All-ECAC Hockey honors and was named the league's Best Defensive Defenseman. He finished the season as the nation's leader in plus/minus at +38. Metsa recorded 10 goals and 27 assists for 37 total points in 2021-22, and has tallied 84 career points over four years at QU.
Skyler Brind'Amour – Edmonton Oilers Camp
Brind'Amour will also return to the Bobcats in 2022-23. He's tallied nine goals and 35 assists over his three-year career in Hamden thus far, including a career-best 20 points last season. The rising senior has played in 104 total games at QU.
Incoming student-athletes Sam Lipkin (Arizona Coyotes), Collin Graf (Florida Panthers), Charles Alexis Legault (Ottowa Senators) and Chase Clark (Washington Capitols) will also hit the ice this week for development camps.
