Magalit & Brown Each Earn 2 Wins for Bobcats

GUILFORD, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's tennis improved to 2-1 in MAAC play on Sunday at the North Haven Health & Racquet Club, earning a 4-3 victory over Marist.

The Bobcats won all three doubles matches, then took three of the six singles points.

Alester Magalit and Donovan Brown each earned a pair of wins for Quinnipiac.

NOTES

Javier Casasolas Monllor/Shaurya Sood began the afternoon with a 6-3 win for the Bobcats at No. 1 doubles. They're now 2-1 together in doubles this spring during MAAC play.
Ayato Arakaki/Donovan Brown defeated Firedman/Vasquez in a tight matchup at No. 2 doubles. The duo has won five doubles matches over QU's last seven events.
Alester Magalit picked up a No. 4 singles win, defeating Vasquez (6-0, 6-2) in straight sets. The singles victory is Magalit's first in MAAC play this year.
Donovan Brown won at No. 5 singles – a 6-3, 6-2 win against Kawahara. Brown is now 2-1 in MAAC singles action.
Beekman Schaeffer earned the No. 6 singles win by default to pick up the point for the Bobcats.

NEXT UP

QU will now hit the road for three straight matches to finish the regular season, heading to Rider (April 12), Fairfield (April 14) and Siena (April 16) all next week.
