QU Cruises to Win vs. FPU on Wednesday

MANCHESTER, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's tennis cruised to a 6-1 victory over Franklin Pierce on Wednesday at Magic Lincer Tennis Club.
With the win, the Bobcats have now won three matches so far this year.
The Bobcats picked up the doubles point as Ayato Arakaki/Donovan Brown and Javier Casasolas Monllor/Shaurya Sood each came out victorious. QU then won five of the six singles matches.
Ayato Arakaki, Shaurya Sood, Alester Magalit, Donovan Brown and Beekman Schaeffer all won in singles play.

- Javier Casasolas Monllor/Shaurya Sood have now won three of their last four doubles matches together. The pair also earned doubles wins on 2/12 vs. Merrimack, and 3/14 vs. LIU.
- For Ayato Arakaki and Donovan Brown, the doubles victory is their second in as many matches. The duo won from the No. 2 position today vs. Franklin Pierce (6-1), and also won from the No. 3 position vs. LIU back on 3/14.
- Ayato Arakaki has now won five of his last six singles matchups. Arakaki won 6-0, 4-6, 6-2 today vs. Bemal.
- Shaurya Sood has now won five times in singles action (either from the No. 3 or No. 4 position) since the start of February. Sood won in straight sets today (6-1, 6-2).
- Alester Magalit has won four times over the last six events for QU. The former MAAC Rookie of the Year battled to a three-set win vs. Franklin Pierce's Denecheau.
- Donovan Brown won his second singles match with the Bobcats. He took down FPU's Patrick in three sets – as Brown battled to a 15-13 win in the third set to claim the point.
- Beekman Schaeffer won his first singles matchup since 2/4. He claimed a three-set win over Ortiz from the No. 6 spot.
