
Perets Named ECAC Goaltender and Player of the Year

12th Player to Ever Win Both, 3rd Bobcat to do so
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac goaltender Yaniv Perets was named both the ECAC Hockey Ken Dryden Goaltender of the Year and the Driscoll Skating and Skills Player of the Year, as announced by the league offices. He is the is the 12th goaltender in league history to be named Player of the Year, dating back to 1961-62. He is the third Bobcat to be presented with this award.
Perets follows former teammate Odeen Tufto as Player of the Year after Tufto won the award in 2021.
Perets is the fourth Quinnipiac goaltender to win ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year honors, joining Keith Petruzelli '21 a year ago, Andrew Shortridge '20 in the 2018-19 season, and Eric Hartzell in his record-breaking 2012-13 season. He is the fifth Bobcats' goaltender to win a league goaltending award as Jamie Holden '05 won the Atlantic Hockey Goaltending Award in 2003-04.
One of the best goaltenders in not only the league, but the nation, Perets led all of NCAA hockey this regular season in save percentage (.955), GAA (0.82), and shutouts (11). He also eclipsed ECAC Hockey league-only records in all of these categories, putting together one of the best goaltending seasons in the history of the league. Perets was a huge part of a Bobcat team that finished the season 17-4-1 in league play, earning the Cleary Cup and top seed in the post-season tournament.

Perets is also a finalist for the league's Player of the Year award, the Mike Richter National Goaltender of the Year award, and a potential candiate for the Hobey Baker Top 10, which will be announced tomorrow.
The Bobcats are scheduled to take on Colgate in the ECAC Hockey Semifinals on Friday afternoon in Lake Placid, N.Y. Puck drop at Herb Brooks Arena is slated for 4:00 p.m.
