Bobcats Become First #11 Seed to Advance to MAAC Tournament Semifinals

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Quinnipiac men's basketball downed No. 3 Siena in the MAAC Quarterfinals, 77-71, on Thursday night at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall.

With the win, the No. 11 Bobcats will advance to the semifinal round of the MAAC Tournament on Friday night. Quinnipiac will take on Saint Peter's at 8:30 PM. The Bobcats are the first No. 11 seed in MAAC Tournament history to advance to the semifinal round.

Jacob Rigoni led the Bobcats with 16 points, adding eight rebounds and two blocks as well.

Matt Balanc contributed 15 points, while Dezi Jones added 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Jacob Rigoni led the Bobcats once again with 16 points and eight rebounds. The graduate student's hot shooting stretch continued, as he made 4-of-6 triples.
Matt Balanc chipped in with 15 points in 37 minutes, going 6-of-16 from the floor.
Dezi Jones added 11 points, five rebounds and four assists for QU.
Kevin Marfo grabbed 11 rebounds and added nine points. The MAAC's leading rebounder played 25 total minutes, going 4-for-6 from the field.
Luis Kortright added nine points, seven assists and four rebounds. He was a +9 while on the floor.
Tymu Chenery scored seven points, JJ Riggins earned six points off the bench, and Brendan McGuire added four points.
QU led for 31:30 in total. The Bobcats outscored Siena 38-26 in the paint.
Quinnipiac's largest lead was 16 points, which came with 10:01 left in the second half.
