
Bobcats Sweep Weekly Awards

Morris Garners Player of the Week Honors, while Grisdale is Named Rookie of the Week
EDISON, N.J. – Quinnipiac women's basketball forward Mikala Morris and guard Jackie Grisdale both earned weekly awards, as Morris was named the MAAC Player of the Week, while Grisdale earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors, as announced by the league office on Monday, Feb. 7.
The accolades marked the third week in a row where a Bobcat player has earned a weekly award, as Mackenzie DeWees was named the MAAC Co-Player of the Week on Jan. 31 and Amani Free earned Player of the Week honors on Jan. 24.
In a 1-1 week for Quinnipiac, Grisdale averaged 11.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and shot 56.3% from the field. In her first career start against Monmouth, Grisdale tallied 14 points and a career-high seven rebounds. The weekly award is the first of Grisdale's career.
Morris posted back-to-back double-doubles, pushing her season-total to eight en route to MAAC Player of the Week honors. In Thursday's victory over Marist, she posted 15 points, 15 rebounds and a season-best four blocks. She followed that performance with 16 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks against Monmouth this past Saturday.
A native of Springfield, Oh., Morris is averaging 10.9 points, 9.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. Her 9.4 rebounds per game ranks second in the MAAC, while her 1.4 blocks per game is fourth in the conference.
The Bobcats moved to 13-8 on the season and 8-4 in the MAAC after splitting its contests with Marist and Monmouth this past week. Following Monday's contest against Canisius, Quinnipiac will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 12, when Quinnipiac welcomes Iona to Hamden for Senior Day. Tip-off from the People's United Center is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+
