Petruzzelli Promoted to Maple Leafs

TORONTO — Quinnipiac men's ice hockey alum Keith Petruzzelli will be promoted to the Toronto Maple Leafs for tonight's contest in Carolina, according to Hockey Night in Canada's Elliotte Friedman.
The former Bobcats netminder and 2021 ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year will be on the roster tonightafter Ilya Samsonov left Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins with a knee injury.
The 2021 Hobey Baker Award Top 10 Finalist and Mike Richter Award Finalist currently sports a 2.31 goals-against average and .922 save percentage with the Toronto Marlies and boasts a 6-0 record this season.
A four-year member of the Bobcats, he finished with a career 2.17 goals-against average and .915 save percentage in 94 appearances. He boasted a 49-27-8 career record and was a two-time Cleary Cup Champion.
Tonight's game with Carolina is slated for a 5 p.m., puck drop and can be seen nationally on ESPN.
