HAMDEN, Conn. — Sophomore Jacob Quillan recorded both goals on the night, his first, multi-goal game as a Bobcat, and the No. 6/7 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team knocked off Cornell 2-0 on Saturday night at M&T Bank Arena.
Quillan tipped home a shot from the point off the stick of Jake Johnson, scoring all the Bobcats would need en route to the shutout victory. He added a second on an empty net with 11.1 on the clock.
The Bobcats' defense was all over the ice, holding the Big Red without a shot on goal in the first period and nine total for the night. Led by four from Jayden Lee, Quinnipiac's defense recorded 15 blocked shots.
STATS AND NOTES
The Bobcats hit the road for a pair of local battles next weekend, taking on Brown on Friday night before heading to New Haven, Conn., for a bout with Yale on Saturday. Both games are slated for 7 p.m., Eastern and can be seen live on ESPN+.

STATS AND NOTES
- The nine shots allowed are the fewest total since they also allowed that amount to LIU on Dec. 11, 2021.
- Quillan recorded the first multi-goal game of his collegiate career and fourth multi-point game in a Quinnipiac uniform. He has tallied three such contests in the first eight games of the 2022-23 campaign.
- Johnson has recorded an assist in each of the last two contests, his first two points in a Quinnipiac uniform.
- Graf recorded his fifth assist of the season, tied with Quillan for the most on the team. He has eight points, one short of Quillan's nine for tops on the team.
- Keeping Cornell off the board, Perets recorded his 13th career shutout and second of the year. He is six behind Michael Garteig's Division I career record and enters the NCAA record book, tied with 11 other goalies at that mark.
