ORONO, Maine — Four, third-period goals were the difference as the hosts Maine knocked off No. 3 Quinnipiac, 4-0 on Saturday night at the Alfond Sports Arena in Orono.
After a scoreless first 40, the Black Bears scored 3:13 into the final frame to break the deadlock on a chipped shot that went over Yaniv Perets' glove and into the net. the hosts then scored three times in a span of 3:15, starting with a goal at the 12:45 mark to double the lead and they would take control from there.
Ethan de Jong led the Bobcats with six shots on net, while a trio of players fired three on Maine's frame as Quinnipiac mustered 33 total on the night.

The Bobcats and Black Bears return to the ice tomorrow afternoon, with a 4:05 p.m., puck drop on tap from the Harold Alfond Sports Arena.
