HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball battled vs. top-seeded Iona on Sunday afternoon at the People's United Center, falling vs. the Gaels by the final score of 76-61.

Dezi Jones led the Bobcats with 13 points in 15+ minutes. Luis Kortright chipped in with a season-high 12 points off the bench.

Kevin Marfo added eight points, 11 rebounds, and three assists, while Brendan McGuire stuffed the box score with eight points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Quinnipiac shot 39.3% (24-61) in total, knocking down eight 3-pointers.
The Bobcats shot 41.9% during the first half, as the two teams were tied 33-33 at the break. The Gaels took a 21-8 lead early, then QU went on a quick 11-0 run over a 2:46 span to make it 21-19.
Dezi Jones led QU in scoring 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
Luis Kortright chipped in with 12 points off the bench, going 5-of-9 from the field. The MAAC All-Rookie selection played a season-most 21+ minutes.
QU's bench scored 25 points – 12 of which came from Kortright.
Kevin Marfo added 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists in 27+ minutes.
Brendan McGuire recorded eight points, nine rebounds and five helpers in 31+ total minutes.
Iona led for 29:57. The score was tied seven separate times.
Tyson Jolly led the Gaels with 20 points, seven rebounds.
Since losing vs. Quinnipiac at the People's United Center in Hamden last year (March 9, 2021), Iona has posted a 22-4 record. The Gaels are 14-0 against MAAC teams since falling to the Bobcats.
