Santore Stops Eight Shots as Bobcats Battle #16 Old Dominion

Field Hockey Allows Just One First Half Goal to Monarchs, Fall 3-0 Friday
CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – The Quinnipiac field hockey battled in a hard fought game Friday afternoon against the No. 16 Old Dominion Monarchs but came up short in a 3-0 loss at the Villanova Field Hockey Field.
Quinnipiac held Old Dominion to just one goal on a penalty stroke in the first half after an impressive six-save effort in the half from goalkeeper Nina Santore (Berlin, New Jersey).
The Monarchs added a goal each in the third and fourth quarter as they extended their lead and finished off the shutout of the Bobcats.
Santore finished the afternoon with eight saves in goal, tied for her second-most in a game this season.
Old Dominion outshot Quinnipiac, 11-0, and had a 7-0 edge in penalty corners.

- Santore previously had eight saves at Providence on March 21 and made 11 saves vs. UConn the game before on March 18.
- Quinnipiac was just the second team (Liberty) this season to not allow a non-penalty stroke goal to Old Dominion in the first half
- The Bobcats' also held the Monarch's leading scorer, Marlon de Bruijne, without a goal for the fifth time this season.
