Matt Pisani Joins QU as Final Recruit for Fall 2021 Class
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer has received a commitment from Cheshire, Connecticut-native Matt Pisani, as announced by Head Coach Eric Da Costa and the Bobcats on Friday, April 23.
Pisani played at Cheshire High School, earning CHSCA All-State honors in 2020 for his efforts. He's a two-time All-SCC choice, a two-time All-Record Journal Team selection, and has been tabbed All-New Haven Register during his pre-collegiate career.
"We're happy to provide Matt with this opportunity," Da Costa said. "He's a local kid that has grown up with our program in his back yard, and we know how much it means to him to be able to represent Quinnipiac University. Matt will add immediate depth to our already talented group of goalkeepers. He has a fantastic attitude and a strong desire to learn, grow and develop. We are all looking forward to being a part of his journey, and welcoming him and his family into ours."

The four-year varsity player served as captain for the Rams in 2020 as a senior, anchoring a defense that helped lead the program on a 6-4-2 run to the SCC Division A final this past fall. Pisani plays club ball with CFC ECNL 03 and volunteers for the Cheshire Soccer Club as well as at the Cheshire Community Food Pantry.
"Having lived near the campus my entire life, I have been involved within the Quinnipiac community and have attended numerous camps/sporting events there," Pisani said. "Being immersed in such a great environment has made me want to come to Quinnipiac University from an early age. I just love everything about the school, and it's a place I know I will have great success on/off the field at."
I'm looking forward to making great memories, meeting new people, and working hard every day to make myself and the team better," Pisani continued. "I hope to have a positive impact on the field, in the classroom, and in the community."
Pisani will join the Bobcats in the fall of 2021 as a first-year keeper, with four years of eligibility.
