Comeback Falls Just Short in Providence
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Four different Bobcats recorded tries on Saturday afternoon, but Quinnipiac was defeated by Brown, 26-20, in Providence.
Trailing 19-0 in the early stages of play, the Bobcats scored a late first half try to lessen the deficit to 19-5 at halftime.
Quick strikes at three minutes and eight minutes into the second frame brought Quinnipiac all the way back to within one score at 19-15.
Brown stopped the QU scoring run with a try and conversion with 18 minutes to play in the game and that was enough to hold off a final Quinnipiac effort that included a try with 12 minutes on the clock.
Haley Crow, Grace Gitchell, Kat Storey, and Mariah Norris-Johnson all tallied a try apiece for Quinnipiac.
