Johnson '16 Advances to Semifinals on American Ninja Warrior

Quinnipiac Acrobatics and Tumbling Alumna Records 12th Fastest Time in First Qualifier
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Former Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling NCATA All-American Taylor Johnson '16 advanced to the semifinals of Season 12 of American Ninja Warrior after an impressive run in the first of four qualifiers.
Johnson finished second among female competitors as she reached the fifth of six obstacles, Sling Shot, but fell while her time of 2:21.53 earned her a spot in the semifinals. Johnson also had the 12th fastest time amongst all competitors on Night One of Qualifying.
The top 12 times overall and top three women advanced to the semifinals.
The round opened with Johnson making it through the Shrinking Steps and Weight For It with ease. The third obstacle, Ring Chaser, presented a challenge as Johnson missed the 14 inch ring she was chasing but managed to advance through the obstacle using the eight-inch ring.
On the fourth obstacle, Johnson sprinted through Rib Run with no issues before falling in the back end of Sling Shot.
The semifinals for American Ninja Warrior will air over two nights on October 5 and October 12 with the finals set for Oct. 19, with all episodes airing on NBC. All rounds of this seasons of American Ninja Warrior were located at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis.
