Dunleavy Ranked Among College Basketball's Top Young Coaches

Bobcats' Head Coach Earns Spot on The Athletic's List of "Rising Stars" Under 40
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball head coach Baker Dunleavy has been selected as one of the top college basketball coaches once again, earning a spot on Seth Davis' "40 under 40" list published by The Athletic.
The Bobcats' head coach made the list of college basketball's "rising stars" under 40 years of age. He was also selected to ESPN's "40 under 40" list in May of 2020.
Dunleavy completed his third season as the head coach of the Bobcats in 2019-20. He has won 43 games in three years at Quinnipiac. Dunleavy led the Bobcats to the MAAC Semifinals in his first season in 2017-18, then guided Quinnipiac to a MAAC Tournament first round bye in both 2018-19 and 2019-20. Quinnipiac made a postseason appearance (CIT) for just the fifth time in program history during Dunleavy's second year in 2018-19. Under Dunleavy's tutelage, the Bobcats ranked No. 5 nationally in made three-point field goals per game in both 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Prior to arriving at Quinnipiac, Dunleavy was the associate head coach for a national-title winning team at Villanova in 2016. His father, Mike Sr., played 10 seasons in the NBA and later served as Head Coach for the Los Angeles Lakers (1990-1992), Milwaukee Bucks (1992-1996), Portland Trail Blazers (1997-2001) and Los Angeles Clippers (2003-2010). Dunleavy's brother, Mike Jr., won an NCAA championship at Duke and is now the Assistant General Manager for the Golden State Warriors.
