Bobcats Record Season-Best 90 Points, Outscore Golden Griffins 55-37 in Second Half
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Quinnipiac men's basketball outscored Canisius 55-37 over the final 20 minutes of action on Friday night at Koessler Athletic Center, earning a MAAC victory on the road by the final score of 90-73. The Bobcats move to 6-3 in league play with the win, and 11-8 overall in 2019-20.
The Bobcats shot an impressive 33-of-54 (61.1 percent) from the field and 15-of-28 (53.6 percent) from three-point range. Quinnipiac went 19-of-27 in the second half alone, drilling 8-of-11 attempted three-pointers.
Sophomore Tyrese Williams led the way with a career-high 26 points, shooting 9-of-14 from the floor and 8-of-11 from three-point distance. First-Year guard Brendan McGuire stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, six rebounds and six assists, going 6-of-7 from the floor and 3-for-3 from long range.
Rich Kelly added 15 points, eight assists and four rebounds, and forward Kevin Marfo recorded his 11th double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

- The Bobcats shot 33-of-54 (61.1 percent) from the field and 15-of-28 (53.6 percent) from three-point range – both season-best marks.
- With a career-high 26 points in the win, Tyrese Williams now has eight games with 10+ points this season. The Bobcats are 12-0 over the last two seasons when Williams knocks down three or more three-point field goals.
- Brendan McGuire's 15 points are also a career-high mark. He's tallied 5+ assists in four of his last eight contests.
- Rich Kelly shot 5-of-9 from the floor en route to a 15-point performance. The junior guard leads the MAAC in scoring with 17.2 points per contest. Kelly's eight assists also tie a season-best mark, and he has now dished out 5+ helpers in 12 games this season.
- Marfo's double-double is his 11th of the year. The big man shot 5-of-8 from the floor, and continues to lead the nation in total rebounding (13.5 RPG). Marfo is still the only player in Division I basketball to grab 10+ rebounds each time he's taken the floor this year.
- Jacob Rigoni added nine points, three rebounds and two assists, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
- Aaron Falzon added eight points (all in the second half) off the bench, knocking down two more three-pointers.
- The Bobcats are now 5-9 all-time against Canisius, going 3-4 against the Golden Griffins in Buffalo.
- The Bobcats cap off the road trip on Sunday afternoon, squaring off with Niagara on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 1:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
