Bobcats Conclude California Trip with 4-1 Loss at Cardinal in First-Ever Matchup
STANFORD, Calif. – Jess Halley (Glasgow, Scotland) scored her first career goal late in the second quarter Tuesday morning as the Quinnipiac field hockey team wrapped up a three-game road trip in California with a 4-1 loss at Stanford.
Halley is the second Bobcat this season to record her first career goal after Olivia Howard (Clifton Park, New York) tallied her first goal at California on Friday.
In addition to Halley's goal, Quinnipiac's goalkeepers Mack Vorel (Mendham, New Jersey) and Hedda Biermann-Ratjen (Hamburg, Germany) stepped up to record six saves each as they split time in the cage. The Bobcats held Stanford to just one goal in the second half as Biermann-Ratjen made all six of her saves in the second half.

- 4:41 (Quinnipiac 0, Stanford 1): Sarah Johnson got the Cardinal on the board early in the first quarter after Vorel saved a Corinne Zanolli shot but Johnson put home the rebound as the ball trickled toward the goal line.
- 17:05 (Quinnipiac 0, Stanford 2): Zanolli scored the first of two second quarter goals for Stanford off a penalty corner as Johnson inserted the ball to Fenella Scutt and Zanolli fired the ball into the cage.
