Seven Freshmen Make Quinnipiac Debut in Loss
HAMDEN, Conn. – Despite scoring the first try of the game less than two minutes in, the Quinnipiac women's rugby team dropped the 2019 season opener, 57-10, to the Harvard Crimson on Saturday at the Quinnipiac Rugby Field.

The Bobcats opened the season with an immediate strike as sophomore Allison Koenig broke free from beyond midfield and stiff-armed a Harvard defender before finishing off the first try of the contest.

After a missed conversion limited the Quinnipiac lead to 5-0, Harvard rattled off a pair of tries and conversions to open up a 14-5 lead after the opening 15 minutes of play.

Harvard extended a 26-5 halftime lead with a try and conversion in the opening five minutes of the second half.
Â
Freshman Erin Terwilliger capped the scoring for the Bobcats with her first career try in the 71st minute of play.

Seven players made their Quinnipiac debuts in the contest, as Maya le Rossignol, Hazel Bice, Libby Moser, Addison Walker, Erin Terwilliger, Bianca Ceolin, and Grace Gitchell all played key minutes.

SCORING SUMMARY
The Bobcats return to action in one week when the Penn State Nittany Lions visit Hamden on September 7. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. at the Quinnipiac Rugby Field.
