Bobcats Advance to MAAC Title vs. Monmouth on Sunday

WEST WINDSOR, NJ – Quinnipiac men's tennis advanced to the MAAC title contest for the first time since the 2015-16 season on Saturday afternoon, topping No. 2 Marist by the final score of 4-1 in the semifinal round of the MAAC Tournament.

With the win, the No. 3 Bobcats will take on No. 1 Monmouth in the MAAC Tournament finals on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Quinnipiac picked up a quick doubles point to begin the day, then Hielke Moore (No. 3), Alester Magalit (No. 4) and Patrick Cachapero (No. 5) each won a singles match to power the Bobcats to victory. Magalit won 6-2, 7-5 to clinch the win.

Hielke Moore moves to 16-11 with the No. 3 singles win, as he bested Sowinski 7-5, 6-1 in the No. 3 position.
MAAC Rookie of the Year Alester Magalit is now 18-14 with the singles win.
Patrick Cachapero won his 12^th contest of the season, moving to 5-2 vs. MAAC opponents in singles play.
Axel Stern and Aleksa Martinovic improved to 6-1 vs. MAAC foes with a No. 1 doubles win, earning win number nine as a duo this year.>
Freddie Zaretsky/Austin Yannone are now 7-8 together in doubles action, winning in the No. 3 spot 6-3.
