Bobcats Pick Up First Win of Season in 273.430-235.585 Victory Over Hilltoppers

HAMDEN, Conn. – The No. 3 Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling team swept every heat Saturday afternoon as the Bobcats had their best meet of the season in a 273.430-235.585 victory over the West Liberty Hilltoppers.

Quinnipiac set season-highs in 10 different heats throughout the meet and set event highs in three events on Saturday.

Quinnipiac recorded a perfect score of 10.00 in the 5-Element Heat of the Acro Event as Carly Duval (Tampa, Florida) shined as the top with Megan Hamel (Methuen, Massachusetts) and Camren Diaz (Oxford, Connecticut) in the heat as the bases.

Following Quinnipiac's 10.00, the Bobcats battled to season-highs in all three acro heats as well as five of the six tumbling heats and two of the toss heats.

Quinnipiac recorded its second 10.00 of the season and first in the 5-Element Heat of the Acro event with Hamel, Duval and Diaz
The Bobcats recorded season-highs in all three acro heats, with scores of 9.55 and 9.65 in the other two heats
Quinnipiac continued its momentum into the pyramid event as the Bobcats tied their season-highs from their first two meets in the event
Duval continued her impressive work as a top Saturday as she was part of a season-high 9.70 in the 450 Salto Heat of the Toss Event while the Open Toss group with Melanie Mancini (Waterbury, Connecticut) as the top tallied a season-high of 9.85
All six tumbling passes tied or set season-highs, including Mancini's open pass recording a 9.750, Cassidy Osher (Old Bridge, New Jersey) setting a season-high with a 9.625 in the 6-Element Pass while Lilliana Lucchese (Glen Cove, New York) had a season-high for the Bobcats in the aerial pass with a 9.275 on her first pass in NCATA competition
Quinnipiac's 94.28 in the team event was by far its best score in the even tthis season
