Pittsburgh, Penn. – The Quinnipiac women's rugby team earned its second victory of 2018 on Saturday afternoon, as the Bobcats had five different players find the try zone as they went on to defeat the Notre Dame College Falcons, 33-10.

SCORING SUMMARY

(Quinnipiac 7, NDC 0) 2:00 - The Bobcats opened the scoring when Emily Roskopf (Dublin, California) stormed up the right side and scored the first try of the day. Mckenna Haz (Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia) scored the conversion to give Quinnipiac the early 7-0 lead.
(Quinnipiac 14, NDC 0) 25:00 - Margot Vella (Leppington, Australia) pushed the Bobcats' lead to two tries when she scorched the Falcons' defense for a try. Haz scored her second-straight conversion of the game to push the lead to 14.
(Quinnipiac 19, NDC 0) 35:00 - Allison Koenig (waukesha, Wisconsin) kept the momentum going for the Bobcats when she pushed for her first-career to give Quinnipiac the 19-0 lead.
(Quinnipiac 19, NDC 5) 50:00 - Notre Dame answer just five minutes into the second half to cut Quinnipiac's lead to 14.
(Quinnipiac 26, NDC 5) 61:00 - Megan Rose (Silverthorne, Colorado) continued the offense for the Bobcats and she reached the try zone for the first time in 2018 and gave Quinnipiac the 26-5 lead! Haz had her third successful conversion of the day.
(Quinnipiac 33, NDC 5) 67:00 - Mikah Maples (Mowequa, Illinois) kept up her impressive 2018 season as the captain found the try zone to extend the Bobcats lead to 28 after another successful conversion from Haz.

NOTES

Roskopf scored one try in the opening frame of the match, pushing the captain's total to five tries.
Maples scored one try on the game. She now has five tries on the season and has a try in four-straight games.
Both captains, Maples and Roskopf, are tied for the team lead in tries with five scores so far in 2018.
Koenig's try to give the Bobcats the 19-0 lead was the freshman's first-career try as part of the Bobcats.
Vella recorded her third-career try in the Bobcats' second try of the game. Vella had a try in the first game of the season against Harvard and one in Quinnipiac's win against Norwich.
Rose's try was her first of the 2018 season. In 2017, the junior had 40 tackles for the Bobcats.
Haz struck for four out of five conversions on the day to push her 2018 total to 11.

Quinnipiac returns to the field as the calendar flips to October when the Bobcats head to Cambridge, Massachusetts to face the Harvard Crimson on October 6th at 12:00 PM.
