
QU Women's Golf Remains in Tight Race for Title after Day Two of Babs Steffens Collegiate

DEBARY, Florida -The Quinnipiac women's golf team stands in third place out of 13 teams, in a tight battle for the team title, after the second day of the Babs Steffens Hatter Collegiate, hosted by Stetson University, on Sunday afternoon at the DeBary Country Club.

Quinnipiac will play the final round of the Babs Steffens with a shotgun start on Monday morning.

NOTES
- Quinnipiac is one of five teams within 10 shots of the lead after the second day. Seminole State is in first with a 616, while St. Leo is in second with 617 and Quinnipiac is in third with a 621.
- Xavier (623) and Florida Atlantic (626) are right behind the Bobcats in a five-team race for first place.
- Freshman Queenie Lai remains the low Bobcat on the leaderboard in a tie for fifth with a 153 (75-78) after two rounds.
- Freshman Elena Ybarra (pictured) shot a 75 on day two, just two shots off the low round of the day, to jump up 16 spots into a tie for 10th place.
- Ybarra was +3 after four holes, but shot even par over the final 14, with birdies on No. 5 and No. 11.
- Junior Julia Kemmling shot a 77 to jump 18 spots into a tie for 21st place with a 159. Alexandra Sazhin and Luciana Tobia-Palza are one shot behind her in a tie for 25th.
Quinnipiac will play the final round of the Babs Steffens with a shotgun start on Monday morning.
