QU Men's Tennis Picks Up 5-2 Win over Fordham for 2-0 Weekend

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac men's tennis team swept doubles and used its depth in singles to take a 5-2 win over a Fordham team which came in with an 11-4 record on Sunday evening at the North Haven Racquet and Fitness Center.

NOTES:
- Quinnipiac controlled doubles, clinching the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 2 (Hielke Moore/Freddie Zaretsky) and a 6-4 win at No. 1 (Julian Rozenstein/Patrick Cachapero).
- Austin Yannone and Axel Stern completed the sweep by taking a 7-6 win at No. 3 (7-4 in the tiebreaker).
- Fordham was able to get two singles points at No. 2 and No.3, but the Bobcats were able to win all three courts in the bottom half of the ladder at No. 4-6.
- Rozenstein dominated at No. 1 singles for a quick 6-2, 6-0 win to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead.
- Senior Kyle Alper took a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4 to give the Bobcats a 3-1 advantage.
- After Fordham got back within a point, Moore got the clincher at No. 6 with a 6-3, 7-5 win.
- Stern finished off the 5-2 win by going the full three sets at No. 5 for a 7-6 (10-8), 0-6, 6-2 win.
- The Bobcats were playing one day after improving to 2-0 in the MAAC with a 6-1 win over Niagara yesterday.
