HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac men's tennis team will play three matches in three days when it travels to Florida to participate in a multi-team event at the IMG Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The Bobcats will open the trip against Connecticut no Wednesday at 10:45 a.m., followed by matches against Colgate on Thursday and Butler on Friday.
Last Time Out
- The Bobcats split two matches on a Philadelphia trip on Feb. 23 and 24, defeating Saint Joseph's 6-1 and falling to Drexel 5-2. Axel Stern earned tour wins on the weekend, taking both of his singles and doubles matches.
- In the Saint Joseph's match, Patrick Cachapero picked up a victory in No. 2 Doubles while paired with Kyle Alper 6-4, and then won his No.4 Singles showdown in a tough battle 4-6, 7-6 (10-8), 12-10 for his sixth singles victory of the season.
- Stern won his No. 3 Doubles match while paired with Austin Yannone 6-4, then followed up his doubles victory with a 6-2, 6-3 victory in No. 5 Singles for his second victory of the day.
- Senior Julian Rozenstein (pictured) picked up wins in No. 1 singles in both matches with a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Saint Joseph's and a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Drexel, improving his team-leading total to 11 singles wins this season and 20 overall wins including doubles.
- Hielke Moore picked up his eighth victory of the season with a win in No. 6 Singles.
- Yannone and Stern combined for a 6-4 victory in No.3 doubles over Drexel's Youssef Lahlou and Xandy Hammit.
- Stern completed his strong weekend with 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory over Lahlou in No. 5 Singles. The victory was his 10th singles victory of the season.

- Quinnipiac was ranked third in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll as announced by the league office.
- Julian Rozenstein started his senior campaign with a win the Flight "A" singles bracket at the UConn Invitational.
- Austin Yannone collected two victories at the Quinnipiac Invitational on his way to winning the Flight B Singles bracket.
- Hielke Moore started his Quinnipiac career with a four-win weekend at the UConn Invitational as he captured the Flight "C" Singles championship 6-0, 6-4.
- Alex Stern collected three wins in the UConn Invitational and three victories in the Singles Draw 3B bracket at the CT State Championships.
- Head coach Chris Pappas announced Julian Rozenstein and Kyle Moore as the captains of the Quinnipiac men's tennis team for 2018.
