Rozenstein and Zarektsky Shine for Quinnipiac Men's Tennis During First day of Invitational

HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac University men's tennis team kicked off the Quinnipiac Invitational Friday with six victories as a team. Julian Rozenstein (Marlboro, New Jersey) and Freddie Zaretsky (Fair Lawn, New Jersey) led the way as the duo advanced to the Flight A Doubles championships. They will take on a duo from in-state rival Fairfield in the championship tomorrow.
NOTES
? Rozenstein and Zaretsky each owned first-round byes in the Flight A Singles bracket and will play Saturday in singles competition.
? The duo took home three victories in the Flight A Doubles bracket, including a 6-4 victory over Wesleyan to advance to the championship.
? Kyle Alper (Dix Hills, New York) defeated Jeremy Chung of Fordham 7-6, 6-3 in the opening round of the Flight A Singles bracket to advance to the second round.
? After receiving a bye in the Flight B Doubles bracket, Hielke Moore ( Fredericton, New Brunswick) and Bernhard Wright (Oslo, Norway) advanced to the semifinals 6-2 before losing a tough battle to Wesleyan.
? Wright continued his winning ways in the Flight B Singles bracket when he defeated Timo Tanzer of Marist 7-5, 0-6, 10-7.
? Moore and Austin Yannone (Severna Park, Maryland) were awarded byes and will start their singles action tomorrow.
