
QU Men's Tennis Captures 7-0 Win Over Saint Peter's

HAMDEN, Conn. - Senior Julian Rozenstein won at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles, including the clinching win in singles, as the Quinnipiac men's tennis team captured a 7-0 win over Saint Peter's in its first dual match of the season on Saturday afternoon at Quinnipiac Outdoor Courts.

NOTES:
- Quinnipiac didn't drop a set on its way to the 7-0 win, although both senior Julian Rozenstein (No. 1) and sophomore Austin Yannon (No. 4) prevailed in first set tiebreakers.
- The Bobcats swept doubles with Rozenstein and junior Freddie Zaretsky winning at No. 1, senior Kyle Alper and junior Axel Stern pulling out a 6-4 win at No. 2 and Austin Yannone and Hielke Moore earning a 6-3 win at No. 3.
- Five of the six players who won in doubles also picked up singles wins, with Zaretsky sitting out and sophomore Patrick Cachapero earning a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles to put the Bobcats ahead 2-0.
- Alper gutted out a 6-3, 7-5 win for the third point at No. 3 singles, winning deuce points for the final two games of the match.
- Rozenstein had a tight first set at No. 1 singles, capturing the tiebreaker 7-3 by earing the last three points (the final one on a service winner), and then cruised to a 6-1 win in the second set to earn Quinnipiac the clinching point.
- Yannone earned a 7-4 win in the first set tiebreaker at No. 4 singles, then pulled out a 7-5 win in the second set.
- Stern earned a quick 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles, and Moore finished off the sweep with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6.
- Both Quinnipiac men's and women's tennis teams wore pink as part of their annual breast careness awareness day.
