
QU Women's Ice Hockey Maintains No. 4 Spot in USCHO.com Poll

HAMDEN, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team checked into the latest USCHO.com Division I Women's Poll still ranked as the No. 4 ranked team in the country, as announced on Monday, Feb. 8, 2016.
Despite having their 21-game unbeaten streak snapped, the Bobcats remain ranked No. 4 in the country for the ninth consecutive week and have been ranked in the USCHO.com Top 10 for 63 consecutive weeks. In this week's poll, the Bobcats received 98 points.
Quinnipiac also remains ranked No. 4 in the most up to date PairWise Rankings, just behind Boston College, Wisconsin and Minnesota. The Bobcats also have the fourth best winning percentage and fourth best RPI in the country.
The Bobcats picked up a 4-1 against ECAC Hockey opponent Cornell before picking up their first loss since Oct. 31 at No. 10 Colgate, 3-2, on Saturday.
Nicole Connery (Newmarket, Ontario) led the Bobcats with three points on three assists over the weekend, including a two assist effort in the Bobcats' loss to the Raiders. Connery boosts her career point total to 92 after the weekend, recording points in three straight games.
Taylar Cianfarano (Oswego, New York) recorded two points against the Big Red with one goal and one assist. Cianfarano's goal was her 23rd of the season and 40th of her career while she crossed the 70 career point mark. Her 23 goals are tied for the third most in a season in program history while Cianfarano's 41 points are the most in a season by a sophomore in program history. Cianfarano is also the fourth player in program history to record 40 or more goals.
Kristen Tamberg (North Toronto, Ontario) also recorded a two-point effort for the Bobcats as she recorded single-season career-highs with three goals and 14 assists for 17 points this season. Tamberg's game-winning power-play goal gave the Bobcats their third straight game with a game-winning power-play goal.
The Bobcats also got goals this weekend from Danielle Marmer (Dorset, Vermont) who tallied her first goal of the season and Alicia Barry (Hanson, Massachusetts) who scored the first goal of her career. Meghan Turner (Bedford, New Hampshire) added her eighth goal of the season while Melissa Samoskevich (Sandy Hook, Connecticut) recorded her 14th goal of the season.
For the fourth straight week, there is no change in the teams of the top 10 with Quinnipiac leading all ECAC Hockey teams with their No. 4 ranking. Clarkson follows the Bobcats at No. 5, Princeton moved up to No. 8 and Colgate remained No. 10. The only changes in the poll came with Northeastern falling to No. 6 after tie at No. 5 with Clarkson last week and North Dakota falling to No. 9 in the poll.
